I bought a 1-Day pass and the teacher I really wanted to learn from changed days.

We don’t anticipate this happening, but if a scheduling conflict arises for one of our teachers and you purchased a 1-day pass, we will happily switch your days and provide you with a new link for that day.

Do I need to attend every class?

You are not required to attend every class of the 2-day retreat. This is your time. We have put a lot of thought and careful consideration into our teachers and class topics in order to give you the fullest experience possible, but attend what you can and take additional breaks as needed.

What do I need for the retreat?

There are a few things we recommend to get the most out of your acting retreat weekend:

  1. Strong wifi/wifi extender/ethernet capability. Because this is a virtual retreat, you don’t want to be focusing on wifi issues instead of your acting. We suggest doing an internet “speed test” via SpeedTest.net. If your download speed is below 50mbps and/or upload speed is below 5mbps, we recommend looking into a good WiFi extender and/or using an ethernet cable (using ethernet will be your strongest and most reliable option).

  2. Give this weekend to yourself. This is your chance to gain wisdom/be coached by some of the best acting teachers in the world. Don’t schedule anything else for yourself (if you can help it). If you’re a parent, do your best to recruit help or ask someone you trust in your pod for childcare so that you can immerse yourself in this experience.

  3. Create space. You will need a dedicated space to create, learn, digest, perform & exercise. Create a dedicated space in your home that allows you to create freely and that inspires.

  4. If you are performing, you’ll need a good light + reliable computer. Some classes will require a self-tape setup, others will not. If you are selected for a class, you will be given further details on what material(s) you will need to prepare + what your setup should be.

  5. Snacks + water. These are long days. We have 15-minute breaks between classes and a 1-hour lunch + 1-hour dinner. Please plan your meals+snacks accordingly.

  6. Notebook—we recommend having a notebook on hand so you can still participate in classes and take notes at the same time.

Will I be able to participate without a performer ticket?

Yes! You will be able to ask questions and perform in any group exercises. Some of the classes during the weekend are volunteer-only (no need to sign up for a waitlist). The majority of the education will come from observation. Most teachers at the retreat do not offer auditing of any kind at their studio. It’s a very rare opportunity to be able to watch these teachers & classes, back-to-back, in one weekend.

If I miss a class or day, can I get a recording?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our guests, recordings will not be provided.

What can I NOT say/ask in a class?

No mention of auditioning for a project that a casting director is currently working on, nor mention of any current breakdown or projects in production are permitted. This retreat is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. The Acting Retreat is NOT a way to obtain employment as an actor. Your performance is NOT a job interview or audition.

What is the Zoom format like?

The Acting Retreat is in webinar format. You will not see other students unless you are on the “stage.” This format is imperative in allowing optimal focus for our performers and teachers and an overall more enjoyable experience.

Can I use a coupon/promo code after I’ve checked out and get a refund?

We apologize for the inconvenience, but only coupons/promo codes used at checkout will be honored.
